Project Brief
The Bell & Webster RoomSolution® was the chosen for this 234 room student village is built on the site of former CompAir factory in Hughenden Avenue, High Wycombe. The Hughenden Park Student Village boasts a range of sustainable features. “We are delighted to hand over this building which offers modern environmentally efficient accommodation.” said Galliford Try Construction South Director, Farid Safavi. Bell & Webster was awarded the contract to design, supply and deliver the concrete floor, wall, stair and landing units.
Bell & Webster's Solution
Bell & Webster provided their efficient RoomSolution for this project whilst adhering to the required quality and safety standards. The High Wycombe, Student Accommodation project utilised the first of the prestressed slabs manufactured in Bell & Webster’s facility at Hoveringham. Bell & Webster provided Galliford Try with the ideal solution, providing more flexibility to change the layout in the future if required.
Other benefits included high quality finish of the prestressed slabs allowing Galliford try to reduce the amount of time required to finish the floor area.
Key Issues
Galliford Try required flexibility with units and proposed to replace the concrete wall with alternate plasterboard units.
